Kenstar ARC 3D 50 BLDC Cooler Review: Efficient Cooling, Compact Size

As someone who has used everything from standard floor fans to large desert fans coolerI have always felt that most coolers have compromises. They either take up too much space, use a lot of water, or look out of place in a modern room.

While aesthetics alone shouldn't dictate a purchasing decision, it's always nice if the appliance doesn't look out of place in your living room. (Shaurya/HT)

The Kenstar ARC 3D 50 BLDC immediately caught my attention because it seemed to address some of these issues. It’s relatively compact, has an energy-efficient BLDC motor, and its design feels more modern than anything in this class. Here’s my full experience after using it for a few weeks in different weather conditions.

Design and space efficiency

The first thing that struck me was its design. Traditionally, air coolers tend to be bulky devices that take up a lot of floor space. They often become the most eye-catching object in the room, especially if you live in a smaller apartment or use them in the bedroom.

The Kenstar ARC 3D 50 BLDC takes a different approach. Although it offers a fairly large water tank, its footprint is surprisingly compact. It can be placed comfortably in a corner without making the room feel crowded, which instantly makes it more suitable for everyday use.

For people living in city apartments, where every bit of space counts, this is a real advantage. Even if placed near a bed, desk or sofa, it will not be intrusive. The overall shape design feels more thoughtful than many traditional desert coolers I’ve used in the past.

A cooler that doesn’t look like a cooler

Another aspect I appreciate is the visual design.

Most coolers are designed purely for functionality and are rarely praised for their appearance. However, the ARC 3D 50 BLDC looks significantly more premium than the average coolers on the market. The look feels modern and clean, making it easier to blend into modern home interiors.

While aesthetics alone shouldn’t dictate a purchasing decision, it’s always nice if the appliance doesn’t look out of place in your living room or bedroom. This cooler doesn’t look like a seasonal appliance that only appears in the summer, but feels more sophisticated and more suitable for modern homes.

Cooling performance under actual conditions

Of course, design only matters if the cooler performs well, and thankfully, in my experience, cooling performance has been largely positive.

During the early summer weeks, the weather is relatively dry and the cooling effect is impressive. Airflow feels strong and the room becomes noticeably more comfortable within a reasonable amount of time. It’s especially pleasant to sit directly in front of the cooler, and the difference is easy to notice even from the other side of the room.

However, as with most evaporative coolers, its performance is highly dependent on ambient conditions. When humidity increases, cooling efficiency naturally decreases. This is not unique to Kenstar coolers. This is how an air cooler works.

That said, even on the more humid days, I still experienced significantly less discomfort than using the fan alone. The room feels cooler and more comfortable, even if the cooling is not as drastic as in dry conditions.

It’s important to set expectations correctly. This is not an air conditioner, nor is it intended to be. However, for people who don’t have air conditioning or want a more economical cooling solution, the difference between a regular fan and this cooler is huge.

Energy efficiency is one of its biggest advantages

One of the main reasons I’m interested in this cooler is that it contains a BLDC motor.

BLDC motors are known to be more energy efficient than conventional motors, an advantage that is especially important in the summer when cooling equipment is often run for several hours a day.

During my use, I felt comfortable enough to keep the cooler on for long periods of time without having to constantly think about power consumption. This is a significant benefit if you’re worried about rising electricity bills or want a cooling solution that can run all day long.

In a market where energy efficiency is increasingly important, the BLDC motor is one of the ARC 3D 50’s strongest selling points.

Water usage and daily convenience

Another pleasant surprise is water efficiency.

Many coolers require frequent refills, which can become annoying after a few days. In comparison, in my experience, the Kenstar ARC 3D 50 BLDC controls water usage quite well.

On average, I use my cooler for about five to six hours a day. In this case, a full tank can last comfortably for about four to five days before needing to be replenished. This level of durability makes everyday ownership more convenient.

Instead of constantly monitoring water levels or refilling water every day, I can simply use the cooler and forget about it for days on end. For busy users, this convenience adds significant value.

Kenstar areas for improvement

While the overall experience was positive, I think the product leaves some room for improvement.

The first problem is the water level indicator. There is an indicator at the bottom, but it only provides a certain level of visibility. Once the water level rises beyond that point, it can be difficult to determine exactly how full the tank is.

Therefore, filling the cooler often requires periodic stops, opening the back, and manually checking the water level. It’s not a huge issue, but it does feel like an unnecessary inconvenience. A more comprehensive and intuitive water level indicator will make the experience smoother.

The second question involves wheels.

When the cooler is empty, it’s not particularly difficult to move it. However, once the tank is completely filled with water, the wheels don’t roll as smoothly as I would like. In particular, there is a slight dragging feeling on some floor surfaces, which makes relocation less convenient.

Considering the cooler is designed to be compact and portable, smoother and sturdier wheels would greatly improve the overall user experience.

Finally, the glossy black front panel looks premium, but it does have a downside. Dust and fingerprints become visible relatively quickly, which means you’ll need to clean it occasionally if you want to maintain its polished look.

final verdict

After using the Kenstar ARC 3D 50 BLDC for a long time, I think it successfully delivers on most of its promises. Its biggest advantages are its compact footprint, modern design, efficient cooling performance, low power consumption and excellent water efficiency.

It’s not perfect. The water level monitoring system could be better, the wheels could be smoother, and smooth surfaces need to be cleaned regularly. However, none of these issues are deal breakers.

The Kenstar ARC 3D 50 BLDC is a great choice for those looking for a cooler that’s stylish, energy-efficient, doesn’t dominate the room, and is a significant upgrade over a standard fan. It’s particularly suitable for small to medium-sized rooms and for users who want actual cooling without the running costs associated with air conditioning.

Overall, it strikes a good balance between performance, efficiency, and day-to-day usability, making it an easy-to-recommend cooler.
