Seattle Ballard Fire: Terrifying visuals emerge
One person shared a video of the fire visible from a distance.
If you choose to take the ferry to Whidbey Island, it’s about 37 miles (59.5 kilometers) from Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.

“A warehouse fire in Ballard has now been upgraded to a Category 2 fire. Smoke can be seen for miles,” a Fox13 meteorologist noted.
Another one commented “There is a 3-alarm fire at Consolidated Supply (Construction Supply Warehouse) north of Ballard Fred Meyer. Please close windows and stay away from the Ballard, Fremont, Flood, Feeney and Greenwood Friends areas.”
A video shared on X by a KOMO news reporter showed the extent of the fire. The fire sent thick black smoke into the air.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) said, “Firefighters are working to enter the building and extinguish the fire with water. The fire is reported to be in a commercial warehouse… A strong smell of smoke and large amounts of visible smoke are reported throughout much of Seattle,” the local channel reported.
Someone else shared the video and wrote, “What’s happening now: Firefighters are trying to put out a three-alarm fire in a Ballard warehouse. Filmed on the corner of Leary and 42nd.”
A video from Lake Union showed thick smoke visible in the distance.
“Looks like there’s some kind of fire/explosion near Queen Anne/Ballard, here’s the view from Lake Union,” wrote the person who shared the video.
