Meanwhile, some people shared horrific videos of the tornado.

“Tornado in Bartlett, IL. View from Brewster Creek Road (Thursday around 8pm),” one wrote.

Someone else shared a set of photos showing the damage caused by the tornado. On the X they wrote: “Tornado damage, Rt. 59 and Stearns, Bartlett, IL.”

Someone else shared a video of the tornado. Sirens can be heard in the video.

Photos they shared showed uprooted trees and people assessing the aftermath of the landing. Other locals also spoke of the tornado making landfall.

“Tornado on the ground in Bartlett moves toward Hanover Park,” one reads wrote.

The Palos Park Police Department issued a statement saying officers were assisting during the tornado warning. “Overnight officers are out and seeking additional resources, please call us if needed. A tornado warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. for north-central DuPage and northwest Cook County, including Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Bartlett, Creekwood, Hanover Park, Elk Grove Village, Russell, Bloomingdale and Itasca,” they famous.

The Bensenville Emergency Management Agency also released a statement explain:

“National Weather Service chicago The state of Illinois has issued a tornado warning for parts of DuPage and Cook counties until 8:30 p.m. We then activated the outdoor sirens. A confirmed tornado was reported near Bartlett around 7:55 p.m., moving east at approximately 35 mph.

They added, “Communities expected to be in the path include Bartlett, Creekwood, Hanover Park, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Russell, Bloomingdale, Itasca, Wood Dale and Addison. If you are within the warning area, take shelter immediately in a basement or the lowest level of a sturdy building, away from windows. Mobile homes and vehicles are not safe during a tornado. Flying debris could cause serious injury.”

Another person shared a video of the cloud forming.

“We have taken shelter in our basement as we are under an extreme warning. According to the Weather Service, a tornado appeared over the top of Bartlett, IL at 7:55 PM. Stay safe! I caught cloud cover in Schaumburg around 5 PM and we drove back to Bartlett. The tornado is now located in Schaumburg,” they wrote.
