Washington, D.C. police have issued a critical missing person alert for 58-year-old Marcilia Williams Howard. Howard was last seen on May 15 in Northwest, DC.
The case comes as the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues to draw national attention, with her family recently expressing frustration at the lack of new leads nearly 100 days after her disappearance.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, 2026, at her home in Tucson, Arizona.

D.C. police ask for public’s help in locating Mahira Williams Howard
According to a Metropolitan Police Department X alert, Howard was last seen in the 4600 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. The department’s X Alert included Howard’s photo and physical description and urged residents throughout the Washington area to remain vigilant.
The alert, also posted on the Citizen App, describes a timeline of Howard’s disappearance and last known location in Northwest Washington.
Authorities described her as a black female, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.
Police said she was last seen wearing a white jacket, white shirt and light gray pants.

Nancy Guthrie search for another missing adult
The search for Nancy Guthrie is now entering its fourth month. Investigators are working carefully, sorting through clues, data and evidence to piece together what happened in the early hours of February 1.
In a recent update, authorities have sent a strand of hair to an FBI testing lab as DNA evidence. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told PEOPLE that authorities may be “closer to identifying” the person to whom the DNA has been linked.
However, Nanos also expressed doubts about the shelving of Guthrie’s case. “When the lab tells us, ‘Hey, there’s nothing we can do,’ then maybe we have a problem… We have a cold case… but right now, the lab is not telling us that,” he said.
