Sierra Fire near Bocado Peak, 5300 Block of Sierra Road, San Jose, california This phenomenon was seen at Alum Rock on Thursday, June 25th. According to WatchDuty, fire As of this writing, Santa Clara County has 5 acres. It is reported to spread slowly in low grass and no structures are currently threatened.

The San Jose Fire Department shared an update on the fire and a map of the area.
“#SJFD firefighters are responding to a Category 2 vegetation fire in the area of the 5000 block of Sierra Rd in East Foothill. Approximately 5 acres in size and spreading slowly. No structures are currently threatened. Please avoid the area,” they wrote.
The cause of the Sierra Fire is unknown and no injuries were reported. Evacuation notices have not yet been issued to Alum Rock residents as the fire does not appear to have threatened any nearby structures. Some people also shared videos of the ongoing fires.

“Fire at Alum Rock Mountain,” the person wrote. Another added, “The Alum Rock Park fire in San Jose, CA is happening…God have mercy,” along with the video.
Video from the highway showed much of the mountain on fire overnight. Another shared a distant photo and said “Alum Rock Fire…I guess that’s Mount Hamilton.”
Another local shared a few photos and commented, “The east side of Alum Rock Park is on fire.”
A real estate agent in San Jose also shared a video and wrote “HAPPENING RIGHT NOW: Alum Rock Park Fire.”
There was also a video shared from a distance showing the intensity of the fire.
“Watching the fire east of our house in Alum Rock Park,” the person noted.
A local also shared a video in which a lone helicopter can be seen hovering over the blaze.
“North side of Alum Rock Park. They sent about 25 fire units there. They were making a lot of noise. It was coming from my backyard,” they said, along with several other photos of the ongoing Sierra Fire that you can look here.
Meanwhile, several people in Alum Rock have also reacted to news of the Sierra fire. “You can clearly see it from the south like two roads to hell,” one local said on Facebook. Another added, “The malicious, crazy people must be teenagers.” However, the San Jose Fire Department has not yet confirmed the cause of the fire.
