A 28-year-old man was shot to death after delivering pizza boxes at a housing association in North Philadelphia. The man has been identified as Anshul Kuncha, an Indian man. The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday at the Raymond Rosen Homes complex on Edgeley Street in North Philadelphia. Kuncha was shot in the head after completing the delivery. In fact, the delivery address is a vacant unit. But police have located the phone number from which the order was issued and are investigating the lead.“He was lying on the ground, unresponsive, shot in the head and bleeding heavily,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. “We were able to identify the pizza place by looking at the pizza boxes,” Small said. It has been confirmed that Kuncha works for Pete’s Pizza.Police found three spent shell casings at the scene, just inches from where the victim was found. “This indicates the shooter was standing very, very close to the victim,” Small said. The victim’s vehicle was also found near the scene with a pizza heater inside.Inside the vacant apartment, police found three pizza boxes and a bag that appeared to be untouched, leading investigators to believe the victim successfully delivered the items before being shot.Police said surveillance cameras operated by the Philadelphia Housing Authority captured part of the incident, but the shooting was not captured on camera. But the deliveryman was followed by two men in dark clothing. The video shows one of the people stalking the victim appearing to be carrying a black backpack. No one is in custody, but police say they do have leads. “We do have a phone number for pizza delivery,” Small said.
