Vickrum Digwa, a Sikh man jailed for life for the murder of Southampton teenager Henry Novak, appeared in court alongside his father and brother after all three were charged with multiple weapons offences.The charges relate to a collection of weapons allegedly discovered on December 4, 2025, the day after the 18-year-old student was stabbed to death. Prosecutors said the weapons included a switchblade, an extendable baton, knuckle dusters, a machete, swords and a sickle, The Independent reported. Digwa, 23, appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after he was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 21 years for killing Nowak.His father Moga Singh, 52, and brother Gurpreet Digwa, 27, also appeared in court to face the same weapons charges.Gurpreet also faces other charges including possessing an asp and kirpan in a public place, carrying an ax in a public place and possessing a prohibited air rifle.During the hearing, prosecutor Natalie Angell asked magistrates for more time for the Crown Prosecution Service to determine what charges it intends to bring.Defense lawyer Harmail Gill, representing all three defendants, asked for an adjournment of at least four weeks so both sides could review the case and clarify any charges that may proceed.He told the court the delay would ensure the parties “do not arrive on court day unaware of what charges the prosecutor is bringing”.Magistrate chair Jennifer Pitt agreed to adjourn the case to July 9.Explaining the decision, Pitt told the defendant: “We have been asked to postpone the trial and we are prepared to do so because we believe it is in the interests of justice to review the charges and decide whether or not to proceed at all, so we know what will happen at the next date.”Moga Singh and Gurpreet Digwa were granted unconditional bail until the next hearing. Vickrum Digwa has been granted technical bail as he is already serving time in jail.The three are scheduled to appear in court again on July 9.
