British citizens traveling to Saudi Arabia will be able to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) from 1 July 2026, under a new entry system announced by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.According to SPA, holders of all British passport types can use the new service to travel to Saudi Arabia for tourism, business or short-term study.Under the program, travelers can stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 180 consecutive days in a year. ETA also allows for multiple entries using a single electronic authorization.The Foreign Office said the move reflected the long-standing relationship between Saudi Arabia and the UK and followed previously introduced UK travel facilitation measures for Saudi citizens.Officials clarified that the ETA cannot be used for employment or residence in Saudi Arabia and does not replace the visa required for the Hajj.The initiative aims to make travel between the two countries easier while supporting tourism, business and educational visits, the ministry said.
