Seattle police seek help identifying suspect in downtown attack

Seattle police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in a violent attack downtown on May 4 that left one man seriously injured, according to police.

SEATTLE — Seattle police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in connection with a violent attack in downtown Seattle earlier this month.

On May 4, at approximately 12:06 a.m., police received a report of a man lying on the ground outside the Renaissance Hotel in the 500 block of Madison Street in Seattle’s central business district.

Investigators said the 35-year-old victim was hunched over in front of the hotel when a suspect approached and hit him in the head with an object, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect allegedly continued to attack the man before leaving the area.

The victim remains in critical condition.

Detectives from the Seattle Police Department’s Homicide and Assault Division said the suspect is between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build and has facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white bucket hat, black jacket, black pants and red or pink shoes.

Immediately after the attack, the suspect walked north on Sixth Avenue toward Madison Street and continued northbound on Sixth Avenue to flee, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Seattle Police Violent Crime Tip Line at 206-233-5000 and reference incident number 2026-122908.
