Tulsi Gabbard resigned as director of national intelligence on Friday, becoming the latest member to exit Donald Trump’s cabinet. According to Fox News, Gabbard resigned to support her husband as he battles “an extremely rare form of bone cancer.”

“Abraham has been my rock throughout our eleven years of marriage—steadfast throughout my deployments to East Africa on joint special operations missions, multiple political campaigns, and now in this role,” Gabbard noted in her formal resignation letter.
Gabbard said her husband expects to face “significant challenges” in the coming weeks and months.
She informed Donald Trump of her decision during a meeting in the Oval Office on Friday, with her last day leading the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reportedly set for June 30. She also thanked the President for his trust and confidence in her during her tenure.
