An Indian student revealed his recent experience of obtaining an F-1 visa at the Mumbai consulate as he prepared to pursue a master’s degree at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Hari Krishna Trivedi of Ahmedabad told YouTube how he saw every one of the 20 applicants ahead of him get rejected without any specific reason.Trivedi said he was surprised that the visa officer only gave the candidates a few seconds and when they began their introductions, they were interrupted and told that their visa applications had been rejected. It seems that the visa officer already knows that the application will be rejected before the candidate even comes to the window.After watching candidates get rejected after saying just six words, he said he was mentally prepared to be rejected himself. It was almost lunch time, and candidates for better schools than his were being rejected.Trivedi said he was the last in line when he reached out for an interview and was asked to introduce himself like everyone else. Halfway through his introduction, he was stopped and the visa officer asked him who sponsored him. Trivedi said he was surprised by the sudden question but told the visa officer that his father had a business and was financing his education through loans.The visa officer then asked him about his future plans – believed to be the scariest question. Trivedi said he made it clear to the visa officer that he wanted to pursue a master’s degree in the United States to gain skills and then develop in India – joining his father’s business. He told the visa officer that his father’s business was in the healthcare field and he wanted to learn artificial intelligence in the healthcare field.Trivedi said he was sent a 221(g) form to declare all his social media accounts and he couldn’t believe his visa was issued by the same official who had rejected at least 20 applications before him.
