The city of Austin, Texas, has issued a shelter-in-place order as police search for an active shooter who they say opened fire at nine locations, injuring several people.
“Austin Police continue to search for suspects in multiple shootings and have established shelters in the areas of South Slaughter Lane, East McKinney Falls Boulevard, North Benwhite Boulevard and West Cliff Boulevard,” an alert from the Austin Police Department said. “Residents in surrounding areas are instructed to remain indoors until further notice.”
