a man has been charged exist fatal shooting A photo of another man in the parking lot of Dolly Parton’s Stampede, a popular dinner spot in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Evan Cogdill, 24, has been charged with manslaughter, according to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office.
Cogdill was booked on Sunday 26 April. The day before, he allegedly shot and killed Jacob Inselmann, 22, of Steeleville. illinois.
Who is Evan Cogdill?
Cogdill is from Marissa, Illinois. According to the Pigeon Forge Police Department, Cogdill was in a car with Inselman outside the Stampede grounds when his firearm discharged and struck Inselman. The victim was later pronounced dead at LeConte Medical Center.
Cogdill contacted police after the incident happened around 7:35 p.m. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.

The Stampede has locations in Pigeon Forge and Branson, Missouri. Pigeon Forge is also home to Dollywood, which has 50 rides and attractions
This family-oriented attraction is popular for its combination of four courses of Southern cuisine with activities in the form of musical performances, horseback theater, acrobatics and more. The Pigeon Forge location opened in 1988 as the Dixie Stampede. The name was changed again in 2018.
“When they said ‘Dixie’ was an offensive word, I thought, ‘Well, I don’t want to offend anyone. This is a business. Let’s just call it ‘Stampede,'” Parton told Billboard in 2020 about the racist connotations of the word “Dixie” and its connection to the Confederacy. “Once you realize [something] is a problem and you should solve it. Don’t be stupid*** that’s where my heart is. I would never dream of intentionally hurting anyone. “
