Planning a flight may no longer require switching between multiple tabs and filters. Skyscanner has launched a new way to search for flights by integrating its service into ChatGPT. The feature, now available for users in India, allows people to find flights and compare fares through a chat-based interface.

How this feature works
With this update, users can install the Skyscanner tool from the ChatGPT app store and start searching using a simple text prompt. For example, users can type in a request such as finding the lowest fare to a destination within a specific month. The system then responds with available flight options, including route, fare and travel duration. All results appear in the same chat window, no need to visit multiple websites or apps.
Search and compare in chat
This setting replaces the usual method of entering details into different fields and applying filters. Instead, users can continue the conversation to refine their search. They can change travel dates, switch destinations or choose a different airport by sending a follow-up message. The system updates the results based on these inputs without restarting the process.
The integration also displays multiple options at once, allowing users to compare flights based on price, airline and flight time. This makes it easier to review alternatives in one place. Skyscanner said the tool builds on its existing flight data system, which already collects pricing information from airline partners and travel providers.
What’s the company’s next plan?
The company added that it is looking for more ways to use artificial intelligence in travel planning. This may include helping users discover destinations and compare options more efficiently.
To access this feature, users need to install the Skyscanner application in ChatGPT. Once added, it connects directly to Skyscanner’s network, which also includes hotel and car rental listings. The platform processes large amounts of pricing data every day to provide users with up-to-date results for real-time searches.
