Dubai has launched a new ‘Parks to Work’ initiative that aims to turn parks into spaces where people can work, relax and connect, as the city looks to adapt to changing working habits and improve quality of life. The initiative, initiated by Dubai Municipality, will create dedicated workspaces within the park to allow professionals to work in an open, natural environment. The idea is to make the park more useful throughout the day while supporting remote workers, freelancers and small businesses. As part of the rollout, the city has signed agreements with Group AMANA and Letswork to design, build and operate the workspaces. The project is also aligned with wider long-term plans such as Dubai City Plan 2040, Dubai Parks and Greening Strategy 2040 and Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The first location will open in May 2026 at Al Barsha Pond Park. It will include modular workspaces built to high sustainability standards and designed to blend into the park’s natural surroundings. More locations are expected to open in Dubai later this year. Bader Anwahi, CEO of Dubai Municipality’s Public Facilities Authority, said: “Dubai Municipality’s ‘Parks to Work’ initiative reflects our commitment to transforming parks into future-proof urban spaces that enhance quality of life while supporting economic activity.” He added that these partnerships will help deliver flexible and sustainable infrastructure suitable for modern working models. The spaces will be constructed using a modular construction approach led by AMANA Group through its DuBox division. This approach allows equipment to be built off-site and quickly assembled, reducing waste and environmental impact while maintaining high quality and flexibility. “We are delighted to be part of the ‘Work from Park’ initiative,” said AMANA Group CEO Richard Abboud, noting that the modular structure enables an efficient and adaptable working environment. The operational aspects will be handled by Letswork, which will provide access to the facilities through its platform. Users will be able to book hot desking, event areas, podcast studios and creative production spaces within the park. “Our partnership represents an important step towards redefining the future of flexible working in the UAE,” said Omar AlMheiri, co-founder of Letswork, adding that the initiative will also introduce creative spaces and tools for content creators. The project will also include workshops, training courses and collaborative projects aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and building skills in Dubai’s growing creative economy. By bringing together public and private partners, the scheme is expected to bring new investment opportunities while making the park a more active and community-focused space. This is part of Dubai’s wider efforts to create a more flexible, sustainable and innovation-driven urban environment.
