Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested that night and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. His bail was set at $500 with a $2,500 bond due for the traffic violation.
Seminole Police Department spokesman Gary Bittner said the incident began as a fight. A second man was also detained at the scene but has not been charged. Tjay subsequently posted bail and was released on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 7.

Tjay calls Offset a “rat” and Offset responds

Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, has responded to rumors linking Tjay to the shooting. She said in a statement shared with Variety, “We are issuing this release in response to rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting that occurred at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Valet area, which left former Migos member Offset with non-life-threatening injuries. Offset and Lil Tjay had issues before this incident. In early 2025, Tjay talked about Offset during a live broadcast and made a number of claims. He said Offset was “broke”, had a “gambling addiction” and owed him money. The comments have created tension between them.
Offset is best known as a member of the rap group Migos, which he co-founded with his cousins Takeoff and Quavo. He launched his solo career in 2019 and has since released three studio albums and a mixtape.
The group faced significant losses when Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston in 2022 at the age of 28.
