Study shows humans can live up to 200 years, and the secret may lie in whales

Everyone wants to live longer to achieve their dreams and ambitions. While the stress of modern lifestyles is causing health problems, a breakthrough suggests we may be well beyond our current limitations. according to world planthe current global average life expectancy for men and women (both men and women) will be 73.8 years in 2026. and a research team University of Rochester Researchers in the United States have discovered an abundant protein called CIRBP that could extend the lifespan of whales and help repair DNA for centuries. The Rochester team worked with scientists in Alaska on the bowhead whale project, but Vera Gorbunova (co-director of the Rochester Center for Aging Research) said: “This study shows that it is possible for humans to live longer than the typical human lifespan.”

Can humans activate the same longevity protein as whales?

“There are many ways to improve genome maintenance, and here we learned that bowhead whales have evolved a unique way that they can significantly increase the levels of this protein,” Gorbunova said, while adding, “Now we have to see if we can develop strategies to upregulate the same pathway in humans.” According to the Rochester team, Gorbunova may be speaking too soon, but her suggestion to explore ways to enhance CIRBP activity in humans could provide opportunities for extending human lifespan. In this detail, it was mentioned that humans might be able to increase their CIRBP levels through lifestyle changes such as taking cold showers or being exposed to cold environments.

Why cold showers preserve human DNA

The CIRBP protein found in these whales is a cold-inducible protein, which scientifically means that the body only wakes up when it feels cold. Bowhead whale DNA has always functioned in frozen environments. Scientists are now actively researching cold techniques that can act on human cells to produce more CIRBP.

Whale mystery: Why the world’s largest mammal rarely gets cancer

Bowhead whales are known as the world’s longest-living mammals, and one should have no more doubts as some of these giant whales are estimated to live over 200 years. But they lived to such an old age without ever suffering from any age-related diseases, such as cancer. From a scientific perspective, larger animals do have more trillions of cells than humans, which indirectly suggests that they may suffer from more diseases during their lifetime than humans. Still, such large animals or mammals appear to possess “hidden defenses” that allow them to avoid cancer altogether. Their ability to survive without any major disease is also an inherent skill of cells. Whale cells can perfectly repair severe DNA breaks, allowing their tissues to remain healthy for more than two centuries.

Whales vs. Humans: A Comparison

  • Average lifespan: While the global average human lifespan is 73.8 years, bowhead whales have easily sailed for 200 years, nearly three times the human lifespan.
  • Cancer Defense: After age 50, humans typically face an increasing risk of cancer; however, the bowhead whale has “zero cancer” signatures despite having trillions of cells that can mutate.
  • Protein Power: Bowhead whales have 100 times more CIRBP (DNA repair protein) in their tissues than humans.
  • Cellular strategy: Human cells often “self-destruct” when damaged to prevent cancer, which leads to aging. Whale cells follow the rule of “repair, not destroy,” repairing severe DNA breaks with surgical precision.

Is J.D. Vance hesitant about Iran attack? Trump reveals vice president's position

President Donald Trump said Vice President Vance had “slightly different philosophical views” on the Iran war but said both men agreed with the United States launching air strikes alongside Israel.Trump told reporters at his golf club in Doral on Monday that Vance “probably wouldn’t be too keen on going” but defended the strike as necessary.“I feel like this is something we have to do,” Trump said. “I feel like we have no choice.”The president also dismissed suggestions that relations between the two leaders were tense.“We get along very well on this,” Trump said. The conflict intensifies debate within the Republican Party as a challenging election year approaches. Some Republicans have expressed concerns about how military action fits into the party’s “America First” campaign, which often emphasizes reducing U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts.

‘Necessary for the right’: J.D. Vance praises ‘anti-Israel’ Carlson after outrage over Huckabee interview

Vance has long been associated with this approach. A former Marine who moved from author to politics and later became a U.S. senator and vice president, he is widely considered a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2028 and someone who could advance Trump’s political movement.Over the years, Vance has repeatedly supported Trump’s efforts to prioritize domestic concerns over overseas interventions. Citing a 2023 Wall Street Journal op-ed that has gained renewed attention since the attacks, The Associated Press wrote that Trump had his support because “I know he will not recklessly send Americans to fight overseas.”Just before the operation, Vance told The Washington Post that it was “impossible” for the United States to be involved in a long-term war similar to the one in Iraq.Since the strike began, the government has sent mixed signals about how long the conflict might last. Trump said the war could continue “as long as necessary,” but on Monday he also described the operation as a “short-term trip” as economic uncertainty grows.Despite any reservations expressed by Trump, Vance has publicly supported the president since the operation began. In an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Waters, he declined to compare Iran’s actions to earlier U.S. wars.“If you think back to Afghanistan, it was 20 years of mission creep, 20 years of no clear purpose, 20 years of the United States trying to bring liberal democracy to Afghanistan,” Vance said. “It was shorter in Iraq, but we were still in that country for almost a decade without a clear mission, without a clear definition.”“What’s different about this, Jesse, is that the president has clearly defined what he wants to achieve.”Trump’s stance on Iran has been a core part of his foreign policy for years. During his first term, he withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal negotiated under Barack Obama, over the objections of European allies. He later ordered a drone strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani, calling the move “American justice” while criticizing Democratic leaders for questioning the decision to carry out the strike without first consulting Congress.

Everything you need for a powerful streaming and content creation setup in 2026

0

Streaming and content creation have grown rapidly over the past few years. In 2026, production quality plays an important role, and to improve quality, professional-grade hardware is required. A simple webcam and lavalier microphone are no longer enough to stand out.

A well-constructed streaming setup can significantly improve the quality of your content.
A well-constructed streaming setup can significantly improve the quality of your content.
Amit Rakhi

For the past seven years, I’ve tracked consumer technology through the constant changes in hardware, platforms, and the way people actually use their devices. Covering everything from budget gear to flagship hardware, I focus on what readers need to know, not buzzwords or release cycle hype. My expertise spans gaming laptops and gaming chairs, high-performance computers, gaming monitors, printers, smartwatches, headphones, headsets, Bluetooth speakers, tablets, and more, with a special focus on how these products perform in daily use. Reviews, explainers, buying guides, and news stories all have a common goal: to provide readers with enough detail to make a confident decision rather than wading through nonsense. Outside of deadlines, I spend a lot of time playing games, watching movies, and anime, which naturally flows into work. Performance, comfort, display quality and sound are judged on how players and viewers experience it, not just lab data, which grounds my coverage in real-life scenarios, not just benchmarks.

The problem is that building a gaming, streaming, or content creator setup isn’t easy. With the right combination of camera, microphone, lighting, and PC, you can produce studio-quality content in a small workspace. This guide will explain to you the basic components required for a modern streaming and content creation setup.

Why the right streaming or content creation setup is important

You need a well-planned setup that does more than just improve visuals. It can also help you maintain consistency, reduce technical issues, and make the entire workflow fast and smooth. With improved streaming settings, you get:

  • Better audio clarity for professional communication
  • Stable video output for streaming media platforms
  • Faster editing and publishing workflow
  • Improve audience engagement and audience retention

High-performance computers are the foundation

The most important part of any streaming or content creation setup is your computer. Everything from recording videos to streaming live sessions and editing the content later. If your computer isn’t powerful enough, you might experience lag, dropped frames, or even crashes during important streaming sessions.

Modern streaming setups typically require a multi-core processor, at least 16GB of RAM, and fast SSD storage. These specifications help your system handle multiple tasks simultaneously. A dedicated graphics card also helps with video processing and smooth streaming performance. When your system is powerful and stable, you can focus more on your content and less on worrying about technical issues.

Choose the right camera for your content

The camera you use will directly impact how professional your content looks. While basic webcams are still widely used, many creators now prefer higher quality options for improved image clarity.

Modern streaming setups often include Full HD or even 4K webcams. Some creators also use mirrorless cameras connected through capture devices for better image quality and natural depth. No matter which camera you choose, proper placement is important. Keeping your camera at eye level and maintaining good framing can make your videos look more professional.

A good microphone can instantly improve your content

Audio quality is something that many new creators underestimate, but it can make a huge difference. Viewers can tolerate average video quality, but they’ll rarely stick around if the audio sounds unclear or distorted.

A good microphone can help your voice sound clear and professional. Many creators start with a USB microphone because it’s simple to use and requires no additional equipment. As creators upgrade their setups, some are turning to XLR microphones, which offer greater sound control and quality. Using a pop filter or boom arm can also help reduce unwanted noise and improve audio consistency during streaming or recording.

Lighting can revolutionize video quality

Lighting is one of the most important parts of any streaming setup, yet it’s often overlooked by beginners. Even high-end cameras will produce poor results if the room is unevenly lit or too dark.

The right lighting settings help your camera capture clear details and natural colors. Many creators use ring lights or softbox lights to create balanced lighting. A key light placed in front of you usually provides the main brightness, while additional lighting can reduce shadows and enhance background depth. Good lighting instantly makes your content look clearer and more polished.

Is a total ban on smartphones in classrooms the way forward?

0

Hamlet’s existential dilemma – “To be or not to be?” – has an echo in Indian schools: Should smartphones be banned in classrooms?with Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhwinder Singh Suhu With the announcement to ban the use of mobile phones by students in all government and private schools from March, and Karnataka counterpart Siddaramaiah announcing a ban on social media for children under 16 during his budget speech on March 6, concerns over smartphone overuse and its impact on children’s cognitive abilities have once again come to the forefront. The decisions are in line with growing global efforts to curb smartphone use in schools amid growing concerns about shortened attention spans, social media addiction and distraction in the classroom. In the United States, nearly 35 states have enacted laws requiring public schools to restrict or prohibit students from using mobile phones on campus, except for students with disabilities who have individualized education plans. Sweden will implement a mobile phone ban in all schools across the country from August to improve student safety and learning conditions. The new rules will affect children aged seven to 16, with all schools and extra-curricular clubs required to collect mobile phones and hold them until the end of the day.In January 2025, Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, became the first city in China to implement a law banning the use of mobile phones in primary and secondary schools unless there are special needs for teaching.Access restrictionsRather than banning mobile phone use by teenagers, some countries have chosen to restrict social media. In December, Australia became the first country to ban certain social media platforms for under-16s, while Indonesia announced its decision to ban under-16s from accessing “high-risk” platforms from March 28.The French National Assembly supports a similar plan for children under 15 years old. Poland also plans to introduce legislation that would ban children under 15 from accessing social media and put tech companies directly responsible for age verification. There are also growing calls for such measures in India, including in the recent economic survey. After the Kar nataka, the Andhra Pradesh government announced plans to restrict the use of social media by teenagers below the age of 13 within 90 days and would consider extending the ban to those below the age of 16. Goa has also set up a team to look into the format of such a ban and how it could be implemented.Smartphone usage rulesIndia has yet to formulate a national policy or specific law regarding the use of social media apps and smartphones in educational institutions. However, there are growing calls for regulation of smartphone use. The matter was brought to the Delhi High Court last year, but the court refused to order a blanket ban, calling it impractical and undesirable. Instead, the courts issued guidelines for regulating and monitoring smartphone use.Jyoti Arora, principal of Mount Abu School in Delhi, said the cause for concern was obvious. He added that mobile phones can be great tools for learning, communicating and accessing digital resources, but distraction remains a concern. “Almost every day, our offices are filled with parents complaining that games, social media and constant notifications distract their children from learning. Many of them started complaining of eye strain and poor posture,” Arora said.

-

academic performanceShe linked excessive smartphone use to declining academic performance among students. “We also found that when students are too immersed in screens, their academic performance declines. A bigger concern is exposure to online risks, such as cyberbullying and access to inappropriate content. “2023 UNESCO Report* shows that in 14 countries, the mere proximity of mobile devices distracts students and negatively impacts learning. Citing research, it states that “banning cell phone use in schools can improve academic performance, especially for low-achieving students.”Find a solutionAmeeta Mulla Wattal, chairperson of schools and scholarship programs at DLF Foundation, said the word “ban” never really helped anyone, especially in the school system. “Anything that is oppressive is wrong, especially for teenagers. The learning ecosystem has become so integrated with technology that even in classrooms, platforms like Whats-App, Instagram and gaming are accessible. Students are very good at finding solutions,” she said. The Covid-19 pandemic has deepened this integration by moving education systems around the world online, with everything from classes to parent-teacher conferences being conducted remotely.Wattal, who is also the former long-term principal of Springdales School in Derry, said the real issue was not the devices but the responsible use of digital devices and focus on teaching. “Teachers use many WhatsApp groups to share resources, assignments and facilitate discussions. The parent community is also on WhatsApp groups to receive notifications and updates from the school. Many students arrive by alternative means of transport or receive private tutoring after school. Therefore, mobile phones are crucial for communication. ” she added.A holistic approach is neededVatal stressed that finding a middle path is the need of the hour and that the process requires dialogue between teachers, parents and students.A team of researchers from the University of Birmingham reached similar conclusions in a February 2025 study** of 1,227 students in the UK. The study concluded that isolated bans are insufficient to address negative impacts and called for a more comprehensive approach to reducing mobile phone use among students. Some schools in India use lockers or Ziploc bags to keep students away from their phones during class, while others require formal requests to be submitted in exceptional circumstances. Arora said her school does not allow students to bring cellphones unless parents specifically request it in writing, in case students need to use their phones after school.Students store their phones in the morning and take them away when they leave. However, it is unlikely that students will be allowed to use smartphones during school hours anytime soon. “We need more talks, discussions and digital ethics workshops before this is allowed. We are doing our part by inviting experts to discuss cyber threats and even the need for digital detox,” she added. The Delhi High Court ruling in March also said schools must educate students on responsible online behaviour, digital etiquette and ethical use of smartphones. The court added that students should be informed that excessive screen time and social media engagement may lead to anxiety, shortened attention spans and cyberbullying.Arora stresses, however, that school is only one part of the equation. “Lessons on responsible mobile phone use and digital ethics must also be taught at home, with parents and teachers taking equal responsibility.”*UNESCO study: Educational technology: https://www.unesco.org/gem-report/en/publication/ technology**UK Studies: School bans alone are not enough to address the negative impacts of phone and social media use: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/news/2025/school-bans-alone-notenough-to-tackle-male-impactsPhone and social media use

A man had creepy visions for ten nights showing the crash of Flight 191 that killed 273 people
David Booth experienced chilling visions over ten nights showing the fatal crash of Flight 191 that killed 273 people/Youtube

In the history of aviation accidents, some tragedies spawn strange stories that linger long after investigators determine the cause of the problem. One of the most disturbing reports related to major air crashes involves American Airlines Flight 191, a catastrophic crash near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on May 25, 1979 that killed 273 people. Years later, a man named David Booth claimed to have seen the crash multiple times in the days leading up to the disaster, and he said he reported the disturbing scene to authorities before the plane took off.

A vision that reoccurs night after night

Booth later described the experience as something different from ordinary dreams. “Everybody talks about dreams, everybody has dreams. I don’t have a dream, I have a vision.” According to Booth, the scene unfolded the same way every time. He said he could see a large airport and a long runway on a sunny day, with a large passenger plane getting ready to take off. “Dreams always start the same way. It was a sunny day and I saw a very big airport and a very long runway and a very big airplane.” Booth said he could clearly identify the airline in the vision. “I can see American Airlines. I saw the plane begin to taxi down the runway and increase in speed. “But just as the plane began to take off, things seemed to go wrong. “All of a sudden, when it started, I had this feeling in my head that there was something wrong with the sound that the engine was making.” Booth said the plane was airborne briefly before disaster struck. Talk later on our YouTube channel our supernatural worldhe described seeing the plane climb, then suddenly roll before crashing back to the ground. “It went straight up in the air, then turned and came right back down to the ground, exploding in this giant inferno and then a wave of despair.” The emotional impact of the scene was almost physical, he said. “Like an object would hit you directly in the chest.”

Ten nights of the same disturbing sight

Anyone who experiences such a dream would feel uneasy. Booth said the same scene played out night after night. According to his account, the sequence was repeated ten times over ten consecutive nights, each time reenacting the same catastrophic moment. He said the psychological stress of reliving the scene over and over again became unbearable. “Every day it was getting worse and worse. Not knowing what to do, not knowing what I was supposed to be doing. Unable to forget an image that was seared not just into my mind but into the fabric of my entire life.” Unsure what else to do, Booth decided to contact the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to report what he had seen.

Call the FAA

Booth eventually contacted FAA Public Affairs Director Jack Barker, who took his call seriously despite the vague information he received. Buck later recalled that Booth did not sound irrational. “David sounded very sane and believable, not surprising at all. He had a disturbing dream for seven nights in a row.” Buck said he listened carefully every time Booth called, but the vision lacked any concrete details that authorities could take action on. “I would talk to him and listen to him, but David’s dream didn’t give me enough information to process it. It didn’t give a location, it didn’t give a flight, and it had some numbers that didn’t make any sense.” Buck said he respected the calls but explained that officials were unable to conduct an actual investigation. “I said: ‘Thank you. There’s nothing we can do about it, but thank you for the information.'”

American Airlines Flight 191 crashes

On May 25, 1979, the disaster Booth feared became a reality. American Airlines Flight 191, a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 flying from Chicago to Los Angeles, crashed shortly after taking off from O’Hare International Airport. Shortly after the plane left the runway, its left engine separated from the wing, causing severe damage and causing the plane to quickly lose control.

The plane rolled and crashed into a field near the airport, then burst into flames. All 271 people on board and two people on the ground were killed, bringing the total death toll to 273. There were no survivors, making it the deadliest aviation accident in U.S. history at the time.

understand disaster

Booth later said that on the final night of the vision, he sensed something had changed. According to him, the dream ended with a feeling that would never come back. The next morning, he went to work as usual, but shortly after arriving, he received devastating news. He recalled the moment he learned of the accident. “I got up and went to work. I was at work for 15 minutes and the phone rang. ‘Dave, I’m sorry to tell you that American Airlines flight DC-10 crashed on takeoff an hour ago. There were no survivors.'” When Buck later learned of the disaster, he said the similarities between Booth’s account and the crash itself were disturbing. “It suddenly dawned on me how accurate he was. His dream was basically what happened.”Looking back on the experience, Barker said the feeling was hard to explain. “You have to go through it to understand how scary it is.”

Lingering questions and weird stories

For Booth, the experience never completely went away. Years later, he admits he still thinks about those visions and wonders if more could have been done. “I still think about it and I always wonder, is there anything else I can do?” After the accident, other strange stories began to circulate locally. Drivers passing the crash site reported seeing strange white lights moving across the site where the plane crashed. Residents of nearby trailer parks described unexplained banging sounds and the sound of dogs barking in empty fields. Some residents even claimed that a disoriented man showed up at their door late at night, demanded his luggage, then disappeared. An account describes The “smoldering man” who “smells of gasoline” Ask for an emergency call. These stories were never confirmed, but they became part of the folklore surrounding the disaster.

The ominous reputation of Flight 191

The crash of Flight 191 also fueled another aviation superstition. The flight number itself has been linked to several tragic events. Since 1963, six different flights numbered 191 have been involved in fatal accidents. Coincidence or not, this number has developed an ominous reputation in the aviation community. For David Booth, however, the most memorable part of the story remains the ten nights before the crash and the disturbing sights he says he couldn’t stop seeing.
