A security guard in Carlsbad, California, was arrested for allegedly firing a Taser into a man’s face at close range outside a bar. The incident captured on camera showed a confrontation outside the venue before the man fell to the ground.Video circulating online showed a shirtless man standing near the entrance of the venue. A security guard pulled out a stun gun and shot him at close range, causing him to fall to the ground in pain.A video later showed the guard being escorted away in handcuffs by police.The incident reportedly occurred on the evening of Wednesday, June 24, around 8:30 pm, during a crowded watch party for the Mexico vs. Czech Republic football match at 101 Park, local outlet SanDiegoVille reported.“The investigation determined that during the incident, a security guard allegedly used a stun gun during an altercation. The adult male was evaluated by the Carlsbad Fire Department and transported to a local hospital for treatment,” the outlet quoted a statement from the Carlsbad Police Department as saying.David Marquez, 42, of San Marcos, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and a stun gun, police said.“The incident remains under investigation.
