TMZ Harvey Levin has spoken of a report which stated Nancy Guthrie He received an “apology” ransom letter for accidentally killing an 84-year-old man. Investigative sources told news website Airmail that a note sent to TMZ “began incoherently and offered a difficult ‘apology’ for Guthrie’s unexpected death.”
Levin dismissed the claim in video. “That’s not in the ransom letter that we received. That’s not in the ransom letter at all,” he said.
He continued, “It did say she was ‘scared but okay,’ but the ransom letter made no mention of Nancy Guthrie dying or the kidnappers apologizing. It is mentioned now that Nancy Guthrie is dead, but that’s from someone who sent us multiple emails saying he knew or knew where Nancy Guthrie was and where the kidnappers were, and that he wanted money in exchange for the information. ‘The FBI is radio silent on me’
Levin said this realization led him to contact the FBI again, insisting that “there was something about this guy that felt legitimate.”
“I said, look, what if TMZ did a documentary and we tried to contact this person and even pay for it?” Levine said. “If he had taken us to that location, then you would have been addressed, the Guthrie family would have been addressed. If he had deceived us, he had deceived us. But I have a real feeling that this could be true.”
Levine’s FBI contact thought the idea was interesting and promised to get back to him. However, they never did.
“I’ve called six times over the last few weeks and haven’t heard back,” Levine said. “For some reason, the FBI went radio silent on me… They ghosted me, and I don’t know what that was about.”
