A 27-year-old Indian woman in Dubai has won a free studio apartment in a city-wide shopping promotion.Aysha Ameer from Kerala was announced as the first winner of the Win Your Home in Dubai campaign, receiving a studio apartment from developer Binghatti. According to Khaleej Times, the initiative is organized by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The campaign allows shoppers to spend a minimum of AED 500 at participating stores and scan the QR code associated with their purchase to enter the draw.Aamir said she entered the lottery after her husband encouraged her to enter after seeing ads in malls and on social media.“I saw ads in malls and online, but my husband asked me to try my luck,” she told Khaleej Times. “We just thought, why not give it a try?”She later received a call informing her that she had won the lottery, but at first she had a hard time believing it.“At first I thought it might be a scam call,” she said. “I couldn’t believe something like this was actually happening to me. It only felt real after I received the official confirmation email.”Amir got married last year and had been planning to buy a house with her husband. Those plans were put on hold earlier this year due to uncertainty caused by regional tensions.“This couldn’t have come at a better time for us,” she said. “We had been thinking about buying a home but due to circumstances earlier this year we decided to wait. Winning this apartment feels like a blessing.”Ameer holds an MBA in Marketing from Christ University, Bangalore.According to her LinkedIn profile, Amir currently works as a business consultant at Sharjah Media City (Shams), advising businesses and entrepreneurs. She also serves as the sales team leader for SRTIP Accelerator.Previously, she worked at Commitbiz Business Setup Consultants in Dubai, assisting clients with the company formation and regulatory processes.
