Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani shares photo of Vice President JD Vance With Jared Kushner. “Live from Lucerne, work continues for @VP and @jaredkushner,” the post read. Vance and Kushner were both looking at something on a laptop that looked like the one Vance was using. But eagle-eyed social media users quickly zoomed in on a card inserted into their laptops and asked why it appeared to have a picture of a woman on it.The card looks like a regular access card used by U.S. defense personnel, but the photo above clearly shows a woman.Journalist Caroline Orr Bueno wrote: “I’m curious to know the symbolic meaning of the Prime Minister of Qatar posting a photo of J.D. Vance using someone else’s CAC card to log into his laptop,” adding, “This is 100% sending a message between the lines.”Retired U.S. intelligence officer Travis Akers said the photo reflected pure incompetence in every aspect. “This photo was posted by the Prime Minister of Qatar, Vice President J.D. Vance and Jared Kushner. What’s the problem? Giving a foreign leader visual access to a USG laptop while logging in using someone else’s CAC. Pure incompetence all around,” Akers wrote. Many social media users pointed out that in addition to the card, the presence of Qatar’s prime minister and full view of Vance’s laptop was even more concerning. Others claim that the Vice President may not have been using his laptop and just needed one to view something, which is why using someone else’s card or allowing the Prime Minister of Qatar to view it would not be a violation.
