Indian man Chandan Tayal was arrested for smuggling cocaine from the United States to Canada.

An Indian man was arrested in Port Huron, Michigan with 60 kilograms of cocaine on his way across the border to Canada. The driver, Chandan Tayal, was stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Blue Water Bridge, and while inspecting his car, officers discovered two suspicious boxes. Taiyal told investigators the boxes contained wooden pallets and powdered cheese and were being shipped from Wisconsin to Brampton, Ontario.Fifty-five shrink-wrapped bricks of cocaine were found in the two boxes.Tayal, 27, claimed he witnessed the company sealing the truck, adding that he was unaware of the presence of the cocaine boxes and that one of the vacuum-sealed packages was partially opened.The incident occurred in the early morning of June 11.Tayal was arrested and taken into custody when the Marysville Police K9 unit arrived, and an officer actively alerted officers to the presence of the drugs.The first box contained 25 sealed packages weighing 27.47kg, while a further 30 packages were found in the second box weighing 33.03kg.Police seized approximately 60.5 kilograms of cocaine. Tayal is currently being held at the St. Clair County Jail as the investigation continues.
