What does the body camera footage show?

Authorities also released body camera footage recorded shortly after the stabbing. Video shows police detaining Anthony.

“He put his hands on me,” Anthony told Officer Eduardo Cortez in a disturbed tone. “He put his hands on me even though I told him not to,” he said as officers led him to a squad car.

According to footage shown in court, Anthony identified himself as the stabbing victim to police officers at the scene.

When Officer Cortez refers to Anthony as a suspect in the murder of Austin Metcalfe, Anthony can be heard saying, “I’m not charged, sir, I did it,” in body camera footage taken by an assisting officer.

Prosecutors highlighted statements made immediately after the incident as part of the case. Defense attorneys argued Anthony acted in self-defense after a confrontation with Metcalf.

Surveillance video captured the brief encounter

The newly released video is grainy and was shot from the other side of the playing field. Video shows some students gathering in the area and a brief physical altercation ensued. Moments later, Anthony was seen fleeing the area.

The 15-minute footage shows Metcalf initially entering the stadium with his friends. Eventually, Carmelo Anthony was taken into custody and taken away by police.

In stadium surveillance footage, at the 7:58 mark, Metcalfe and his friends can be seen approaching the tent where the fatal stabbing occurred.

The physical confrontation lasted several seconds. After the stabbing, Anthony can be seen fleeing the stadium and tent in the same video.
