The boy was part of a family traveling to New York from India for the first time, the New York Times reported.

It is said that the accident occurred at 3 pm local time when the teenager was riding in a carriage with three other passengers, two of whom flew out of the tilted cab.

The teenager was initially taken to a hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries, while other passengers refused treatment, the Associated Press reported.

Footage of the alleged incident has surfaced online, with one showing the horse galloping through the park while two people appear to jump from the buggy. A second video shows the taxi overturning after hitting the wheels of another carriage on the park’s busy loop line.
