The hip-hop world is no stranger to misinformation. But few artists fall victim to social media pranks as often as rappers Cardi B.
The rapper made headlines for his close relationship with the president Donald Trump and his MAGA family. This often leads to people making wild, unsubstantiated claims about the 33-year-old “Bodak Yellow” singer. And, the latest one is just as weird, and it gets so!
Did Cardi B get shot? Virus claims fact-checked
one Video clip goes viral on Facebook TikTok claims Cardi B was allegedly shot during a meeting with “America’s biggest cartel.” The video, produced in a newsreel style, includes various clips of the police response, with Cardi B and an alleged bystander saying, “It’s very, very sad and my heart is forever broken.”
The voiceover then details how the meeting was “secret” and how Cardi B was “seriously injured.” Then it goes on to claim shooting It happened in front of a penthouse.

However, Ht.com can confirm that Cardi B was not shot. This video is misleading and false. There have been no reports that Cardi B was involved in any shootings, and police have not provided any updates on how the rapper may have been shot.
So the viral video claiming Cardi B was shot is just one of many hoaxes about the rapper.
Cardi B’s ex-husband shot to death in April
Cardi B’s ex-husband, rapper Offset, was shot and killed outside a casino in Seminole, Florida, in April. Rapper Lil TJay and one other person were arrested in connection with the incident. Offset was taken to hospital for treatment. A spokesperson for the rapper later confirmed to the outlet that his condition was “stable.”

The shooting took place outside a casino and it’s unclear what caused the shooting. Two months later, police have no update on the status of the two arrested suspects or the specific circumstances of their involvement in the shooting.
Cardi B to perform at 2026 BET Awards
Cardi B has been announced as one of the performers at the 2026 BET Awards. She will headline the show on Sunday, June 28, along with other big names such as Doechii and Queen Latifah.
The event will be hosted by MC Lyte. Other performers at the event include Max B, Jill Scott, Kehlani, Rick Ross, Common, Don Toliver, T.I., the War and Treat and French Montana.
