A person on Facebook shared a video that he claimed was from Atlanta, Georgia, where the popular streamer was hosting auditions. “A bomb went off in Atlanta,” the person wrote while sharing a video.
In the alleged video, overlay text shows Atlanta is on lockdown and several law enforcement vehicles can be seen on the street with sirens blaring. However, there were no reports of mass casualty incidents in Atlanta from law enforcement or major and local media. The Atlanta Police Department also released a statement on X as the rumors swirled.
“The Atlanta Police Department is aware of a video circulating on social media claiming an explosion occurred at a Kai Cenat/Streamer University event on Tuesday night. This information is inaccurate. The video in question did not originate from the City of Atlanta, and no such incident has occurred within our jurisdiction,” they wrote.
