“The Sparks Fire Department is on scene of a vegetation fire in the area of Geno Martini Pkwy and Garda Ct. Evacuation orders are in effect in the area of Vecchio Drive. The fire is approximately 30 acres. An evacuation shelter has been set up at the Sparks Library. NV Energy has shut off power to the area,” statement read.
However, it’s unclear whether the current outage is simply due to outage or something else. The cause remains under investigation, according to NV Energy.

When will power be restored to Reno?
Currently, there is no timetable for restoring power to Reno. The Sheriff’s Office also said in the statement: “NV Energy is aware of the outage. There is no estimated time for restoration at this time.”

However, it’s unclear whether the outage is directly related to outages caused by the Sparks Fire, as the investigation into the actual cause is still ongoing.
