Singer Oliver Terry Nickell was one of six people killed in a collision between two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, earlier today. CNN Brazil reporting.
CNN Brazil cited Rio de Janeiro police as confirming that the Santa Cruz-born singer californiaA helicopter with five passengers on board collided with another helicopter on Sunday morning. The other helicopter had only one pilot, who also died in the accident.
As of now, Oliver Terry’s family has not confirmed the details of the singer’s involvement in the accident. Earlier, Rio Mayor Eduardo Cavalier said “there were foreigners on one of the planes.” No further details were provided at the time.
The accident occurred in the seaside community of Recreio dos Bandeirantes in Rio de Janeiro’s southwest district. It is also a popular tourist destination.
