Forbes released its list of “America’s Most Successful Immigrants,” ranking 250 living foreign-born individuals who have made significant contributions in business, technology, science, culture and public leadership. The rankings were released as part of coverage of America’s 250th anniversary.
The most prominent group is Indian-origin leaders, who hold key positions in big tech, venture capital, enterprise software and multinational corporations.
Sundar Pichai
Sundar Pichai is one of the most influential names on the list. After joining Google In 2004, he rose through the company’s ranks by leading major product initiatives, most notably Chrome, which became one of the world’s dominant browsers.
Since becoming CEO of Google and later Alphabet in 2015, Pichai has overseen the company’s expansion into artificial intelligence, cloud computing and hardware ecosystems.
Under his leadership, Google has positioned itself as a central player in the global AI race, integrating generative AI into search, productivity and enterprise tools.
Satya Nadella
Satya Nadella Led one of the most widely cited corporate transformations in modern technology history. Since taking over in 2014, he has reshaped Microsoft around cloud computing and artificial intelligence, with Azure becoming a major competitor to Amazon Web Services.
Nadella also oversaw major strategic acquisitions, including LinkedIn and Activision Blizzard, that strengthened Microsoft’s position in enterprise software, gaming and professional networking.
Vinod Khosla
Vinod Khosla co-founded Sun Microsystems, a foundational company in the early days of Silicon Valley computing. He later turned to venture capital and founded Khosla Ventures.
Today, he is known for backing high-risk, high-impact startups in clean energy, healthcare and artificial intelligence, often focusing on technologies with long-term transformative potential rather than short-term rewards.
Nooyi
Indra Nooyi serves as CEO of PepsiCo, leading the company’s strategic transformation toward healthier product lines while expanding the company’s global reach. Her tenure is seen as a benchmark for balancing commercial growth with long-term sustainability in the consumer products industry.
Nikesh Arora
Nikesh Arora leads one of the world’s top cybersecurity companies. Arora, who previously held leadership roles at Google and SoftBank, played a key role in scaling Palo Alto Networks as the need for enterprise security and cloud protection continues to grow around the world.

The current U.S. immigration stance is characterized by tighter enforcement and stricter visa vetting, particularly with regard to skilled immigration and border controls.
Under the Trump administration, policy has focused on reducing illegal and certain categories of legal immigration, raising vetting standards, and expanding deportation and compliance enforcement mechanisms.
At the same time, the economy remains heavily reliant on highly skilled foreign workers, especially in fields such as technology, health care and engineering, making programs like the H-1B visa system politically and economically important.
