The knife he used was from Walmart’s camping brand Ozark Trail. The Collin County District Attorney said it had a 3.5-inch blade.
The knife is a 6-in-1 multi-tool that comes with a flashlight and glass breaker. It’s ideal for those who hunt, camp, or travel frequently,” the Walmart listing reads.
The blade was powerful enough to kill Metcalf, a 200-pound football player. The stab wound caused a two-inch gash to Metcalf’s chest.
While blades of this size are legal to carry in Texas, they were not allowed at the Frisco school where the murders occurred.
Anthony fled the scene and discarded the weapon. Frisco Police Department School Resource Officer Jacob Schaltz later found it ajar. Schaltz demonstrated at Anthony’s trial how to open the knife with a flick.
Carmelo Anthony transfers to Wallace Pack
Anthony has now been transferred to a Texas prison to begin serving his sentence. On the morning of Wednesday, June 10, he was transferred to the Wallace Park Jail near Houston, Texas, after spending the previous night in the county jail.
He filed a notice of appeal after his conviction, according to court records.

Anthony, 19 Sentenced to 35 years in prison The Metcalfe Murders of 2025. He is accused of stabbing Metcalf to death during a rain delay at a high school track meet. Before the stabbing at Frisco Memorial High School, Metcalf reportedly asked Anthony, who is black, to leave the event because he did not attend that school. Metcalf is white.
Anthony claimed he stabbed Metcalf in self-defense.
