A mass shooting near a community festival in Toledo, Ohio, injured at least 12 people on Saturday, authorities said, with gunshots, screams and panic captured on video. Two victims were reportedly in critical condition.The video, widely shared on social media, shows gunfire erupting near the annual Old West End Music Festival and festival-goers running for cover.According to Toledo police, officers responded to a report of a shooting near the music festival around 5:30 pm local time and found multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Several injured people were sent to nearby hospitals for treatment.Authorities believe more than one shooter may have been involved in the incident. “It appears there were at least two shooters and I think they may have been shooting at each other,” Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan said at a news conference.As of Saturday evening, no suspects had been arrested and the investigation was ongoing.The shooting occurred near the Old West Side Music Festival, a two-day community event in Toledo’s historic district that features live music, food vendors, shopping and family tours.Witnesses said they heard multiple rounds of gunfire before the crowd began fleeing the area. Kevin Berry, who attended the festival, told the media that people fell to the ground immediately after the shooting.Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said summer festivals should provide safe spaces for families and expressed confidence that law enforcement will identify those responsible.The incident was one of more than 170 mass shootings recorded in the United States this year, according to the Archive of Gun Violence, which defines a mass shooting as an incident in which four or more people are shot.
