The recall affects select Up & Up baby wipes sold in Target stores nationwide and through Target’s website.
WASHINGTON — Target is recalling certain Up & Up brand baby wipes after testing found potential microbial contamination that could pose serious health risks, particularly to infants, young children and those who are immunocompromised.
The voluntary recall affects Target stores nationwide and through Targeted website. according to Recall NoticeFollowing consumer complaints about discoloration of the product, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration conducted testing and detected the presence of Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in product samples.
According to the recall information, using products contaminated with bacteria may cause serious and potentially life-threatening infections.
Target notes that the wipes are primarily intended for use on newborns, infants and young children, who may be more susceptible to infections due to their developing immune systems.
In healthy individuals, use of the product on skin with minor lesions is more likely to cause localized infection, while in immunocompromised individuals, newborns, infants and young children, the infection is more likely to spread into the bloodstream, potentially leading to life-threatening sepsis or pneumonia, the recall said.

- Fresh cucumber scented baby wipes, the production code is from December 29, 2025 (291225X/XX) to December 30, 2025 (301225X/XX), and the validity period is from June 29, 2028 (290628) to June 30, 2028 (300628).
Target and wipes maker Sapro Temizlik Urunleri have received multiple consumer complaints and adverse event reports alleging discoloration of the product and symptoms such as skin irritation, eye irritation and infection that may be associated with use of the product. These reports remain under investigation.
