
A car hit a pedestrian on a Tacoma off-ramp and was initially reported as a hit-and-run, but the driver returned, the Washington State Patrol said.
TACOMA, Wash. — A vehicle struck a pedestrian on the westbound State Route 16 off-ramp to Center Street in Tacoma Friday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash shortly after 2:25 p.m., WSP spokesman Trooper Kameron Watts said in a social media post.
Authorities initially reported the incident as a hit-and-run collision. However, officials later said the driver returned to the location.
The off-ramp was blocked off and crews from the Tacoma Fire Department and the Washington State Department of Transportation were on the scene. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
The 55-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
