A man accused of domestic violence was arrested after a search warrant on the K9 unit, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. – A domestic violence suspect was arrested on June 1 following a search warrant conducted by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, at around 10:08 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a domestic violence incident in which a man allegedly punched a family member in the face before fleeing the area.
Investigators said as officers searched for the suspect, they developed probable cause for the domestic violence assault.
During the investigation, several residents contacted authorities to report a suspicious man walking through nearby backyards. Deputies said the description matched the man accused of the attack.
K9 Deebo tracked the suspect through residential yards and thick brush before finding the 36-year-old man hiding in the woods, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody, officials said. After being medically cleared by firefighters, he was booked into the Pierce County Jail on a fourth-degree assault domestic violence charge.
The arrest is Deebo’s seventh since joining the K9 unit, the Sheriff’s Office said.
