WSP looking for silver or white Kia after fatal hit-and-run

A black Honda remained at the scene, but witnesses said another vehicle also hit the pedestrian.

SEATTLE — The Washington State Patrol is asking for help locating the driver of a vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Interstate 5 in King County.

The crash occurred on southbound I-5 near Mercer Street around 12:55 a.m. on May 31, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Police said a pedestrian was struck by a black Honda sedan while walking in the roadway. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Witnesses told the Washington State Patrol that a second vehicle also hit the pedestrian but did not stop.

Detectives believe the second vehicle may be a silver or white 2016-2020 Kia Optima.

The Washington State Patrol said detectives want to speak with the driver of the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to email Detective Judah Bergeron at: Judah.Bergeron@wsp.wa.gov.
