Surveillance video shows the moment a man was shot and killed inside a Growler Guys

Lucas Logan is accused of fatally shooting 25-year-old Quusaa “Q” Margarsa inside a Growler Guys off Lake City Way on the morning of May.

SEATTLE — Video obtained by KING 5 shows the moment a 25-year-old Seattle restaurant employee was shot to death in May.

In the video, Quusaa “Q” Margarsa shows a man and woman surrounding the Growler Guys off Lake City Way. An hour later, they appear to get into an argument, at which point you can see the suspect pull a gun and shoot Magsa.

Lucas Logan, 20, was identified as a suspect in the shooting and later arrested. He pleaded not guilty in King County Superior Court to first-degree murder with a firearm enhancement. He remains in the King County Jail on $2 million bail. A general court hearing is scheduled for June 11 and the trial could begin as early as July 7.

According to court documents, a co-worker found Magsa lying in a pool of blood near the restaurant’s back door. Investigators found shell casings, bullet damage and keys near his body.

Detectives believe Magsa met Logan and a woman at the Lava Hookah Lounge in North Seattle earlier that night and then invited them back to the restaurant after it closed.

Surveillance video previously reviewed by detectives showed the three arriving at the restaurant around 5:25 a.m. and spending more than an hour together. Investigators wrote that the interaction appeared friendly throughout much of the morning.

The atmosphere changed around 6:41 a.m. when the group appeared to have a verbal disagreement near the back door, court documents said. Detectives said when Logan pulled a handgun from his messenger bag, Magsa turned around while trying to open the door and allegedly shot him several times in the back.

Charging documents filed Thursday say Logan later told the woman that he allegedly shot Margosa “to protect her” because Margosa “took her into a back room.” Prosecutors noted that the door Magassa opened, which led into the parking lot, was the same door the gang had used to enter the restaurant earlier.

There are no criminal cases against the woman in the video.
