How to get free Chipotle burritos after the NBA Finals

Fans will need to watch Chipotle’s social media after the finale and be among the first to send in a special code to get their entree.

WASHINGTON — Chipotle is celebrate This year’s NBA Championship Series will feature 53,000 free burritos and a new marketing campaign inspired by the connections between participating teams and the restaurant chain’s commitment to fresh ingredients.

The restaurant chain announced the launch of “53 Years. 53 Real Ingredients.” This week, they’re tying the amount of fresh ingredients to a championship showdown that dates back to 1973. The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are currently competing in the NBA Finals. But 53 years ago was a unique year for both teams. 1973 was the last time New York won a professional basketball championship. At the same time, San Antonio’s professional basketball team was also established that year.

To mark the occasion, Chipotle said it will give away 53,000 free entrees after the final game of the Championship Series. Fans can participate by watching Chipotle’s account on X immediately after the finale. The company will be releasing text-to-win codes, and the first 53,000 people to text the code to 888-222 will receive a free entree.

“This year’s series creates a connection we can’t ignore: 53 years tied to a unique championship storyline with 53 real ingredients that define Chipotle,” Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing, said in a statement. “Giving away 53,000 free burritos is our way of telling that story to our fans.”

The campaign also features professional basketball and Chipotle players Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges, who appear in a new commercial called “Time For Real,” which will air on June 5 during Game 2 of the Championship Series.

As part of the promotion, Chipotle is adding player-favorite high-protein meals as featured digital menu items, available for a limited time through the Chipotle app and website.

Hart’s specialty burrito includes white rice, double chicken, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, roasted pepper corn salsa, sour cream and cheese. According to Chipotle, the burrito contains 95 grams of protein.

Bridges’ specialty bowl includes white rice, double-decker chicken, gooey pepper salsa, roasted pepper corn salsa and lettuce and has 71 grams of protein.
