Earlier this year, actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested after a riot at a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras.
NEW ORLEANS — Actor Shia LaBeouf Pleaded guilty Earlier this year, he was sentenced to probation and court-ordered training for simple battery stemming from an altercation at a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras.
According to court records cited by WWLLaBeouf was later sentenced to six months probation and two years probation. As part of the conditions, he must also complete anger management and sensitivity training.
LaBeouf, 39, was arrested after a disturbance at the R Bar on Royal Street during Mardi Gras. An arrest report said he got into fights with staff and customers and assaulted multiple people during the incident.
Police said one victim was punched in the face and suffered a serious injury to his nose. Investigators also accused LaBeouf of shouting gay slurs during the argument, which LaBeouf later denied.
After his arrest, LaBeouf posted $100,000 bail and was released on conditions including rehab, periodic drug and alcohol testing, and a stay-away order involving the alleged victim and the bar.
Michael Kennedy, one of the victims’ attorneys, issued the following statement:

The defendants in this case have been given a chance to do better. To get better. Mr. Klein and our entire team hope that substance abuse treatment, sensitivity training, and anger management will be taken seriously and that the defendant will be able to utilize the skills he learned in the future. “
