SAMAMISH, Wash. — A man in his 30s was rescued from Lake Sammamish Tuesday afternoon with life-threatening injuries, according to Eastside Fire Rescue.
The man was first spotted wearing a life jacket and sitting on an inflatable lounger. Witnesses said he was seen swimming to shore and then seen face down in the water, according to a spokesman for the Eastside Fire Department.
Witnesses dragged the man to shore and began CPR.
The rescue team arrived and continued CPR for 30 minutes. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the Eastside Fire Department said.
As the weather begins to warm, the department is warning people to use extra caution in and around Washington waters. Despite hot temperatures, lakes, rivers and Puget Sound could remain dangerously cold.
