
Suspension issues on some Bronco Sport and Maverick models may cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
WASHINGTON — Ford is urging owners of certain Bronco Sport and Maverick models not to drive their vehicles due to suspension issues.
recall The warning states that the front lower control arm ball joint may have been installed or repaired incorrectly at the vehicle assembly plant, causing it to disconnect easily. This disconnection can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall notice estimates that approximately 4,653 vehicles are affected: 2021-2026 Bronco Sport and 2022-2026 Maverick.
Ford’s recall number is 26S36.
Notification letters will be mailed to owners by June 5, but owners can also contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
Vehicle owners can enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website to determine whether it is included in the recall.
