SPD: A hit-and-run accident occurred in CID, resulting in 2 serious injuries

SEATTLE — Seattle Police Detective Brian Pritchard said police are investigating after a hit-and-run crash that injured two people just before midnight Sunday in Chinatown’s International District.

Police received a report that two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle while walking near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street on May 31 at approximately 11:40 p.m.

Two people, a 29-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and emergency personnel transported the victims to Harborview Medical Center.

One of them is in critical condition and the other is in serious condition, Pritchard said.

Police interviewed witnesses and obtained video footage of the incident through the Real Time Crime Center. Investigators said video shows a dark-colored vehicle traveling west on South Jackson Street, crossing the intersection and accelerating onto the sidewalk, striking the two victims, then continuing west without stopping.
