Semi-truck overturns on I-5 ramp, spilling gallons of milk

Officials said the collision reportedly resulted in injuries.

TUMWATER, Wash. — State highway officials responded to a report of a collision on the northbound Interstate 5 entrance ramp in Tumwater around 1:20 p.m.

A semi-truck reportedly overturned and blocked the Trosper Road on-ramp.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found injured people and an overturned trailer with several gallons of milk leaking onto the roadway, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Cameron Watts. State Patrol troopers closed the on-ramp.

Watts said WSP is still investigating the collision, but at least two vehicles were involved: a semitrailer and an SUV. The driver of the SUV, a 26-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.

Trosper Rd closures may be extended. Watts added that the on-ramp has been open since Sunday afternoon. At the time of publication, an estimated time for reopening has not yet been determined.

This is a development story. Please check back for details.
