White Center shooting prompts multi-agency response; police search for suspect

Deputies confirmed at least three shots were fired.

SEATTLE — Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to reports of a shooting at the White Center Saturday afternoon, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said KCSO deputies from Precinct 4 and deputies assigned to Burien and SeaTac responded to the 10200 block of 10th Avenue SW in White Center around 11:46 a.m.

Deputies confirmed at least three shots were fired. A KCSO spokesman said shots were fired “at the victim,” but investigators could not confirm if the victim was the intended target.

Authorities said no one was shot.

Investigators said the victim and suspect knew each other.

Despite the deployment of dogs, drones and cordons, officers were unable to locate the suspect. As of 2 p.m., the suspect had been identified but remained at large, officials said.

Deputies collected what authorities called “significant evidence” and the Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
