It could be weeks before the cause and manner of death of a woman who died after a fight with a worker at a Tim Hortons was officially determined.

The investigation into Anita Grayson’s death is ongoing and it could be weeks before the cause and manner of death are officially determined.
The store at the center of the incident closed after the woman’s family and police shared surveillance footage of the incident, local news outlets reported.
A company spokesperson confirmed Thursday that the store is only temporarily closed and that the franchise owners plan to reopen the restaurant at some point, but they did not disclose any updated timeline.
On May 13, the Fort Wayne Police Department conducted a death investigation after receiving a report of an assault involving a 75-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man. Tim Hortons workers.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Anita entered the restaurant to resolve an issue with her drive-thru order. When she went inside, she began “berating a 17-year-old female employee,” police said. At this point, a 20-year-old shift leader intervened and asked the woman to leave.

FWPD said the shift cord was left with “scratches” and a “large chunk of hair” was ripped from her head. In the video, you can see the shift leader’s hair falling out of Anita’s hands.

“I lost the matriarch of my family,” Tawanda told local television.
Shortly after Anita was taken to a local hospital, doctors officially pronounced her dead.
“You shouldn’t walk into a coffee shop and get a cup of coffee and a donut and walk out empty-handed. That’s demonic behavior,” Tawanda said. “It could have been your mother.”
The family told WPTA that their mother had been seeing doctors for chronic heart disease.
No arrests have been made in the incident, and FWPD said Anita’s cause of death has not yet been determined. The investigation has been turned over to the county attorney to determine whether to file any charges.
