As Trader Joe’s continues to expand across the U.S., a new wave of store openings follows
WASHINGTON — Trader Joe’s is preparing to open nine new stores in the United States in the coming months and continue its steady expansion into 2026.
The California-based grocer, which operates in more than 40 states, recently announced its “Opening soon” It’s gaining momentum this year after opening new stores in Hamden, Connecticut; Tucson, Arizona; McKinney, West Texas; and Miller Plaza, New York.
New stores will open in eight states including Michigan, New York, Ohio, Florida, Massachusetts, Illinois, Arizona and Utah. Trader Joe’s did not reveal specific opening dates for each location.
In late March, Trader Joe’s previously announced Opened 18 new stores in 12 states.

Trader Joe’s businesses span the United States
Trader Joe’s has opened dozens of stores across the country in the past two years.
The chain has earned a loyal following for its rotating selection of seasonal and viral products and its emphasis on relatively low-priced private-label items.
Just last week, the grocer launched another A hot item for summer.
The new mini insulated tote bag will be available on May 20, with limited supply. The bags hold 1.5 gallons and come in six different colors, including pink, blue, orange, lilac and striped patterns.
According to Trader Joe’s, the mini tote retails for $3.99. These bags have a zipper at the top and two reinforced handles.
