A new interview between Hunter Biden and conservative commentator Candace Owens has become a hot topic in MAGA circles. Now, Laura Loomer is accusing Owens of using the chats to help her ongoing legal battle with French President Emmanuel Macron. Controversy erupted after Owens, a former ally of Donald Trump, had an unexpectedly cordial chat with his former first son. They discussed Owens’ comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk and its aftermath.
Hunter Biden defends Candace Owens amid backlash
One of the most talked about moments was when Hunter appeared to defend Owens’ right to publicly question Charlie Kirk’s death and even addressed Erica Kirk’s role as CEO of Turning Point America.
Candace Owens faced backlash when she publicly discussed Erica sharing text messages she claimed Kirk sent before the assassination.
The clip from the interview quickly went viral.
Laura Loomer interviewed on Macron lawsuit
Loomer posted a lengthy post on social media on Monday claiming she believed Owens’ decision to interview Hunter Biden was related to her upcoming court hearing in a defamation case involving Macron and French first lady Brigitte Macron.
Macron filed the lawsuit in 2025 after Owens repeatedly claimed that Brigitte Macron was born a man, including through an eight-part YouTube series and multiple media appearances.
According to Loomer, Owens may have been trying to gain support ahead of a hearing on the motion to dismiss in Delaware.
“This means that Carney, who appointed the judge overseeing the Candace Owens defamation case, knew Hunter Biden in addition to knowing the judge,” Loomer wrote, referring to former Delaware Gov. John Carney Jr.
“I believe this is why Candace Owens courted the Biden family a month before the motion to dismiss hearing. She may have hoped that her close relationship with the Biden family, and their relationship with the former governor of Delaware who appointed the judge overseeing her case, would win over the judge, or the state of Delaware if her case went to trial.”
Candace Owens fights back
Owens responded hours later with a series of mocking posts aimed directly at Loomer.
“LMAO. Can someone with an IQ over 40 explain to this crazy hyena what the jurisdictional arguments in court are so she can avoid hitting “EXCLUSIVE!” “What a slap in the face. What will happen to her mentally in the future?” Owens wrote on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.
“It might also help her understand why no one needs to “flee the country” or “hide assets” in the Vatican before the first hearing (last month’s schizophrenic musings).
The two women continued to exchange insults.
“Larry Loomer’s problem is not her mental illness,” Owens later wrote. “That’s the stupidity that goes with it.”
