Target refreshes the in-store experience with an updated shopping cart that includes larger cup holders, more basket space and deeper child seats.
WASHINGTON – The goal is roll out Shopping carts in select stores have been redesigned as part of a broader effort to update the in-store experience.
The new trolley, called the “Series 3 all-plastic trolley,” is designed to be easier to operate, more durable and more environmentally friendly, the retailer said.
Target said the redesign was developed with input from shoppers, particularly families, after the company’s store design team began reevaluating shopping carts in 2020.
The company says the updated strollers feature ergonomic handles, larger cup holders, more basket space and deeper child seats designed to be safer and more comfortable.
The retailer also said the trolleys are fully recyclable and made from modular components that can be replaced individually, which helps extend the trolley’s life and reduce waste.
“Thoughtful design plays an important role in making shopping easier,” Targett said.
The redesigned carts are already rolling out in some locations and will continue to be rolled out gradually, the company said.
