Sheriff Derek Saunders said law enforcement will investigate the cause of the crash
Thurston County, Wash. — Thurston County law enforcement is investigating the cause of a serious rollover crash near Lawrence Lake, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Derek Sanders wrote on social media that county deputies, the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division and the Yelm Police Department are investigating a high-speed T-bone collision that resulted in “multiple injuries in both vehicles, with the driver of the victim vehicle suffering serious injuries.”
The crash occurred in a rural area off Rainier and Four Corners streets, at the intersection of 148th Avenue and Vail Road.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver who caused the collision blew a stop sign at the intersection and struck another vehicle, which rolled and fell near the roadway in some rough circumstances.
“TCSO is investigating whether the driver [was] Impaired because there is currently no evidence that the driver ever hit the brakes,” Sanders wrote.
