EDMONDS, Wash. — A 15-year-old boy from Bellevue is in custody after police said he allegedly fired into a car on the Edmonds waterfront, injuring one of its four passengers.
Police responded to reports of a shooting near the 400 block of Admirals Road Antony’s Parking is available after 1:10 a.m. on Saturdays. Police said two groups of people on the waterfront, some of whom knew each other and had a history of disputes, were involved in an argument that escalated.
One of the groups, made up of four girls aged 17 to 20, three from Lynwood and one from Marysville, fled in a car after the suspect allegedly opened fire on the car.
One person was hit in the arm and bruised. She was evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
At around 3 a.m., police found the suspect in the waterfront area and took him into custody. He was subsequently booked into the Denny Juvenile Justice Center on two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
Detectives responded to the scene and remained there for several hours. Investigators also seized a vehicle as evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
