Police said officers received a 911 call reporting a domestic violence disturbance involving a father and his adult son at the Timbers Apartments.
ARLINGTON, Wash. — A domestic violence suspect was “shot” at an Arlington apartment complex Saturday morning and was taken to the hospital after responding officers, police said.
According to the Arlington Police Department, the incident began when officers received a 911 call reporting a domestic violence disturbance at the Timbers Apartments involving a father and his adult son.
Police said responding officers were “shot at.” Police took protective action and requested assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Washington State Patrol, which said two troopers helped secure the surrounding area.
Authorities issued a reverse 911 alert, advising nearby residents to shelter in place while police secured the area.
The suspect was taken to the hospital with injuries. Police did not immediately release information on the extent of the injuries or whether any officers were injured. It was unclear whether police returned fire.
“There is no known ongoing threat to the public at this time,” Arlington police said.
As investigators remain on scene, residents may continue to see a law enforcement presence in the area.
The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations has been notified and the Snohomish County Multi-Agency Response Team will take over the investigation, according to police.
